About Us

Who?
We are a small staff team with a large number of volunteers.

Where?
Our office and warehouse of books are based on a delightful farm in the heart of the Kent countryside, in South-East England.

Why?
SWT was founded in 1986 in response to a specific challenge from the Lord to the Founder, Jan Mungeam:
"I will use literature to help build my Kingdom, but do not consider only the rich nations of the world. Remember those who cannot pay you with this world’s goods."

In richer nations we take teaching resources for granted and have more than we can possibly use at our disposal. Yet, for the majority of Christians around the world this is not the case. We wanted to do something to redress this imbalance.

Grace resource distribution, Bulawayo River of Life Church
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Pastor proudly shows his library

How and with what results?
SWT has sent or enabled the printing and distribution of over two million books. More than 550 titles have been published (often with our help) as foreign language editions.

What next ?
Whilst books will always be a great resource, we live in a changing world. SWT seeks to keep up with modern technology and already distributes books on CD’s. We have launched a project to distribute reformatted chapters of books as e-mail attachments. We have called this project "Slices of Bread". We'll be following this with a resource web site and "Speaking Books" for mp3 players using Podcasting.

Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement:

To help build the Kingdom of God and to strengthen the Church in the needy nations of the world, by supplying new quality Christian literature to pastors, leaders, colleges and libraries.

All this is in response to 2 Tim 2:2  Take the teachings…and entrust them to reliable people who will be able to teach others also.
